Summary:
The Security Operations Manager supports all security processes in OKCPS to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all students, staff, and facilities.
The Manager provides guidance to the assigned security personnel, schools, and community through their experience.
The Manager will be responsible for managing and implementing the Security Department's mission, vision, to include any direction from leadership.
Essential Duties:
o Notifies Director of Security of all security matters.
o Prepares drafts of security plans or procedures on assigned security matters.
o Prepares and administers a work schedule, planned time off for personnel, and ensures personnel are being accounted for.
o Evaluates district's security program on a continuing basis and recommends changes as necessary.
o Manages and coordinates security at all assigned district locations, district-sponsored meetings/events as directed.
o Establishes and improves rapport with school administration in the coordination of security programs.
o Consults with building administration, leads teachers, contractors, and community members on increasing security measures in and around the premises of each school.
o Works with leadership to acquire security equipment identified for the needs of the school district.
o Assists with recruiting security personnel, coordinates their work schedules, and provides evaluations of their performance.
o Provides input into the development and implementation of an in-service training program for security personnel and other staff members who have security responsibilities.
o Serves as a liaison for Oklahoma City Police, Oklahoma County and other local municipalities.
o Displays the highest ethical and professional behavior in working with students, parents, school personnel, and outside agencies associated with OKCPS at all times.
o Serves as a role model for students and staff in demonstrating positive attitudes, appropriate attire and grooming, and an effective work ethic.
o Performs any duties and responsibilities within the scope of employment, as assigned by supervisor and, not otherwise prohibited by law or regulation.
o Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities Required):
o High school diploma or its equivalent.
o Oklahoma CLEET Armed Guard License.
o Five (5) years of relevant work experience as a security professional, including minimum of two Years' experience in a supervisory capacity.
o Ability to act quickly and decisively in emergencies.
o Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
o Requires satisfactory background check.
o A valid driver's license with no serious violations.
o Have excellent integrity and demonstrate good moral character and initiative.
o Exhibit a personality that demonstrates interpersonal skills to relate well with students, staff, administration, parents, and the community.
o Strong communication skills with temperament and ability to convey information to individuals at all levels of skill development and cultural backgrounds.
o Have specialized training in security procedures and techniques.
o Provides proof of U.
S.
citizenship or legal resident alien status by completing Federal Form I-9 in compliance with the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986.
o Provides evidence that health is adequate to fulfill the job functions and responsibilities, with reasonable accommodation(s) pursuant to 42 U.

o Requires general knowledge of word processing software programs (i.

) o Meets such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.
Preferred Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities):
o Bachelor's degree.
Relevant experience may be substituted for formal education at a 2:
1 ratio.
Therefore, for every 1 year of college lacking, 2 years of directly relevant experience may be substituted.
Physical/Mental Requirements:
o Must have adequate manual dexterity to write legibly and perform required duties on the computer.
o Must have adequate visual acuity to read, interpret and transcribe written material and other required duties.
o Requires normal range of hearing and clear speaking abilities to interact appropriately with others in person and on the telephone.
o Requires some stooping, bending, stretching and occasional lifting not to exceed 50 pounds.
o Sit, stand, and walk for prolonged periods of time.
o May periodically require work outside of normal business hours, including weekends, under sometimes stressful conditions in order to meet business needs and strict deadlines.
Work Environment:
o Office duties will be performed in a well-lighted, climate controlled environment.
o Driving personal vehicle within and outside the district.
o Exposure to a variety of childhood and adult diseases and illnesses.
o Exposure to building in which a variety of chemical substances are used.
o Function in a workplace that is usually moderately quiet but that can be noisy at times.
