Overview System Center Operations Manager/Server Administrator DNI/Creative IT Solutions is providing all systems administration and engineering skill sets for the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) located in Oklahoma City, OK.
We are currently interviewing for an SCOM Administrator/Server Administrator to support this initiative.
Microsoft System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) is a component of the Microsoft System Center suite of enterprise management software.
SCOM allows data center administrators to deploy, configure, manage and monitor the operations, services, devices and applications of multiple enterprise IT systems through a single pane of glass.
SCOM at DISA is used to monitor the health of our environment such as sever temperatures, network connections, user load, and security.
An ACTIVE Secret Security Clearance is REQUIRED.
A Security
Certification is REQUIRED.
This position is 100% onsite.

Responsibilities Daily tasks include but are not limited to coordinating, troubleshooting, executing, implementing, and/or maintaining the installation and operation of DOD Enterprise Email software related to SCOM and other supported DoD system admin application systems.
Serves as the sustainment SCOM Administrator.
Resolves the complete range of problems within the scope of the DEE environment and provides customer support to the DoD Enterprise Exchange team.
Displays technical expertise and problem solving to assist with a range of issues brought to the SCOM monitoring team.
Experience supporting troubleshooting, analyzing, and investigating enterprise level web-based and client server applications.
Provides troubleshooting efforts and technical expertise as a SCOM administrator to assist monitoring assets in both classified and unclassified domains.
Experience in problem solving for the department regarding performance graphs within SCOM and review alternative options on how to monitor their assets.
Proper written and oral communication when briefing the IT System Administrators/Team Leads on the status of their monitoring needs, project status, and daily operation to ensure monitoring continuity.
Effective in written and oral communication to those unfamiliar with the SCOM console and its own terminology.
Qualifications
Essential Functions:
Provide Microsoft Windows Server operating system support.
Monitor server performance and availability.
Ensure Windows server availability compliance to Service Level Agreements.
Address operational systems issues including file and share permissions, user accounts and installing applications.
Promote and maintain server patch management practices.
Monitor server load and implement load balancing where appropriate.
Support and maintain SharePoint Support and maintain Active Directory Lightweight Directory Services (AD LDS).
Knowledge and support of Exchange functions.
Knowledge and support of identity lifecycle processes.
Upgrade and replace server hardware where appropriate.
Critical thinking and troubleshooting to support mission requirements.
Preferred Skills/Knowledge:
Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Microsoft Server and related technologies including SCCM, Exchange, Active Directory, MIM, and SQL 2008 R2.
Understanding of Change Management frameworks such as ITIL.
Familiarity with network infrastructure.
Experience with providing Customer service.
Knowledge of server applications installations and management.
An understanding of patch management software.
Familiarity with Backup software and strategies.
Familiarity with identity lifecycle management systems, such as MIM or Active Directory.
Knowledge and understanding of web servers, public key infrastructure, databases, and file shares.
Expected skills at three months:
Knowledge of the multiple components of SCOM.
Weekly update both SCOM and tech leads of expired / expiring certificate reports.
Install agents as requested on newly implemented Exchange servers.
Create performance graphs for the Exchange team and add to rotator upon request.
Provide monitoring support for our Cloud platform (Azure) for classified/unclassified.
Initiated, track, monitor, incident closure(s), and manage tickets via ITSM ticketing systems Take direction from the team lead and work within a team-environment to achieve organizational goals.
Perform oral and written communication either by contacting the user via phone or email with information on guidelines in troubleshooting the issue, development, and delivery of technical guidance and or implementation assistance for users.
As a problem solver, identify problems; determine accuracy and course of action relevance to the problem and use sound judgment, evaluate, and make recommendations to accurately correct.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
