OTRD is seeking a full-time Park Ranger at Ft.
Cobb State Park.
OTRD provides matching contributions to employees' retirement plans, 11 holidays, and 15 days of annual and sick leave a year.

Job Description Basic Purpose Positions in this job family are assigned responsibilities involving patrolling park/resort grounds and property and the enforcement of laws, rules and regulations within the assigned area of responsibility.
This includes insuring the safety and welfare of park/resort visitors and assigned staff.
Typical Functions The functions within this job family will vary by level, but may include the following:
Patrols assigned areas within a state park/resort; provides security and protection for property, visitors and staff.
Provides assistance to visitors as needed; assures compliance with established laws, rules and regulations; collects fees for camping and other activities.
Conducts investigations; makes arrests and seizes property or contraband; prepares reports and forms.
Represents the agency in court during legal proceedings; provides testimony or presents evidence as required; assists other law enforcement agencies and officials as needed.
Develops policies and procedures related to park ranger duties and responsibilities; provides training and supervision to assigned staff.
Develops park ranger budget and monitors expenditures.
Renders first aid to injured patrons.
Informs visitors of ecological and cultural heritage of Oklahoma.
Level Descriptor This is the leadership level of this job family where employees are assigned responsibilities for providing leadership to other park ranges as well as patrolling all areas of a park or resort to insure the security of property and individuals.
Responsibilities may also include investigating major crimes and coordinating park ranger activities with those of other law enforcement agencies within the assigned area.
May assist with budget preparation and prepare quarterly and annual reports.
Education and Experience Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of a bachelor's degree and an Oklahoma Peace Officer CLEET certification; or a seasonal ranger and four years' experience as a park ranger and an Oklahoma Peace Officer CLEET certification; or four years' experience as a law enforcement patrol officer and an Oklahoma Peace Officer CLEET certification; or an equivalent combination of education and experience and an Oklahoma Peace Officer CLEET certification.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Competencies Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities required at this level include knowledge of safety and security techniques; of first aid; of public relations; of report writing; of the ecological and cultural heritage of Oklahoma; and of supervisory principles and practices.
Ability is required to interpret and apply provisions of state motor vehicle laws, criminal laws and other statutes; to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; to enforce applicable laws and regulations, park rules; to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; to perform a full range of law enforcement duties in providing security and protection at a state park or resort; and to supervise the work of others.
Special Requirements Applicants must possess a valid Oklahoma driver's license at the time of appointment; be willing to work irregular hours under any conditions; be in sound physical and psychological condition as evidenced through the Department of Tourism and Recreation screening process; successfully complete certification as a peace officer as defined in Title 70, Section 3311(F) O.
