Summary:
Provides engineering support for assembly, machine shop, engineering, quality and other assigned areas solving problems related to on time delivery, customer concerns and first-time quality failures through observation, lean tools and data analysis.
Also provides support by validating routing changes are accurate and completed in a timely manner.
Essential Job Functions:
Updates manufacturing routings to ensure bill of material, process steps, and primary routings are correct and maintained.
Responds to requests for set up and run times for manufacturing standards Reviews data supplied in standard change requests and provides critical feedback Inputs changes or updates of standards in applicable systems Performs and documents time studies Communicates with affected departments when component problems are discovered, new standards are revealed or existing standards are changed Investigates processes and waste identification Provides inter-departmental training as needed Assists in the development of standard work documentation and work instructions Assists with maintaining and improving safety for assigned areas of coverage Provides support for daily assembly or machine shop process issues Assists in performing process capability studies Utilizes data to improve, optimize and troubleshoot processes Provides support for new part and product launches Monitors and works with assembly and machine shop to resolve first time quality and customer concern issues Assists in developing CTS test procedures, programs and PLC programs Assists in performing risk analysis for safety concerns Complies with all safety policies, practices, and procedures.
Reports all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or a Health Safety and Environmental team member Participates in proactive teams to achieve departmental and company goals Provides leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
1-3 years' experience in Engineering support role:
in an ISO 9000 Manufacturing environment or combination of relevant education and experience required Maynard Operation Sequence Technique (MOST) certification preferred Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, including CNC machining processes, assembly, and testing required Working knowledge of INFOR/AS400 ERP systems preferred Capable of using various measurement devices such as but not limited to calipers, micrometers and height gages Ability to read and accurately interpret engineering prints and procedures Must demonstrate aptitude by passing a written Engineering Technician test Strong leadership skills Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral or diagram form Must have valid driver's license and clean MVR Must pass background check and drug screenCore Competencies:
