Position
Summary:
Directs Dietary Department in preparation of food in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, with the Hospital's established policies and procedures to assure quality food service is provided at all times.
Responsible for scheduling, disciplinary proceedings and supervising direct workflow of day to day operations.
Always works as a team member within the entire facility.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Essential Functions:
Responsible for overall operations of Nutritional Services establishment.
Demonstrate special skills required to the behaviors of patients and families.
Demonstrate special skills required to care for patients and family nutritional needs.
Complies with state food service sanitation regulations.
Demonstrates thorough knowledge of safety policies and procedures as specified in the department policy and procedure manual.
Ability to purchase food with in budget levels, plan menus, oversees staffing and maintain healthy, safe and sanitary establishment.
Assessment, planning and implementation of nutrition care for patients as ordered by physician or initially screened as high risk.
Review menus for nutritional adequacy.
Submit monthly written report to CEO and CNO/COO.
Ensures Dietary Department meets policies and procedures required by the Hospital, Oklahoma State Health Department, OSHA, DNV, and other regulatory services.
Demonstrates excellent attendance & punctuality.
Maintains knowledge of equipment.
Able to react to change productively and handle other essential task as assigned.
Satisfactorily demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties outlined in this job description as well as continually demonstrates competency in performing the job duties.

Qualifications:
Certified Dietary Manager required OR Registered/Licensed Dietitian.
Bachelors in Nutrition required OR minimum of five years healthcare food service experience.
Supervisory experience required.
Certified Food Service Operator Certification required.
Two years supervisory experience preferred.
Two years of Clinical experience preferred.
Required Physical Demands:
Must be able to handle behavioral issues of patients and visitors while under highly stressful and volatile situations.
This position will require constant standing/walking, smelling, hearing, color vision and lifting 20-30 pounds.
Frequently this position will require twisting, pushing/pulling, bending/stooping.
Occasionally this position requires the use of arm and back muscles lifting 20-30 pounds and the use of power equipment.
