The public Individuals with disabilities Veterans Help Duties The Data Management IT Program Manager is a recognized subject matter expert for the Medical Support Systems (MSS) Database within the Aerospace Medical Certification Division (AMCD). Serves as the AMCD focal point for audits of MSS by the DOT Office of the Inspector General. Works closely with DOT OIG personnel during the audits by providing required information. Provides leadership for highly complex and challenging activities. As the functional program manager of the Document Imaging and Workflow System (DIWS), ensures the system operates at full capability to ensure timely and appropriate risk-based medical certification at AMCD and throughout the FAA medical enterprise. Applies experience and expert technical knowledge of IT principles, concepts, and methods, as well as, an understanding of new technologies and methodologies to perform critical tasks involving data/system management, to include planning, developing, implementing, and administering the DIWS; providing data analysis, data retrieval, and coordinating data sharing. In addition to specialized systems support and database management, develops new concepts, systems, or innovative approaches in support of the FAA's Airman Medical Certification program. Confers daily with AAM managers and senior-level executives to provide recommendations and guidance on interpreting AVS performance metrics, certification procedures, manpower application and new information technologies. Applies knowledge of FAA's policies and objectives to identify, define, and organize resources for large projects/programs/work activities. Provides necessary data mining and data analysis to assist all levels of OAM management in developing new policies, procedures and approaches. Generates business performance statistics and contributes to reports. May create new solutions and policy interpretations. Implements updates to existing FAA web content, and for the development of new web content applicable to the CAMI and the Guide for Aviation Medical Examiners on the FM website (FM.GOV). Serves as SME to assist with and ensure appropriate IT configuration of applicable technologies (e.g. computers, imaging programs and audio/visual equipment). Supports administrative staff as required, to ensure IT technologies are functional and ready-to-use by presenters at high profile, specialty meetings (e.g. Cardiology Panel, Neurology Panel, Residents in Aerospace Medicine). Ensures creation of required user-accounts for applicable systems. Maintains knowledge of and expertise in the use of CAMI facility audio-video equipment. As the DIWS system administrator, verifies access needs and assigns appropriate roles to new users; updates user roles as required by job status changes and ensures removal from MSS when users no longer require access. Regularly interfaces and independently coordinates with AIT and contract software developers to ensure continued operations and to troubleshoot service interruptions or slowdowns. Coordinates sharing of data, paying close attention to the protection of Personally Identifying Information (PII) and Sensitive Secure Information (SSI). Reviews, modifies, and approves Functional Requirements Specifications submitted by contract software developers and ensure the requirements/specifications are accurate and that the work performed will meet AAM needs. Maintains expertise in the use of all Medical Support system applications including AMCS, DIWS, CPDSS, CHAPS and MedXPress or there subsequent follow-on replacement applications. Develops and recommends approaches to address current and anticipated problems and issues. Works with senior management to identify and resolve problems. Performs other duties as assigned.
